What is the Terma Foundation?
The Terma Foundation is a non-sectarian, nongovernmental organization (NGO), which has been working in the Tibet Autonomous region and adjacent provinces of China since 1993. Terma is the longest-running US-based NGO working in the TAR.
Our Mission
The Terma Foundation creates innovative programs combining indigenous and western knowledge to confront the health crisis now affecting the over six million Tibetans in the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) and adjacent provinces of China.
Our Objectives
 |
To educate and train healthcare professionals and community members in culturally appropriate methods for reducing health risks and incidence of disease. |
 |
To research and develop solutions to health care problems using both traditional Tibetan and western knowledge and practices. |
 |
To provide diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation to Tibetans in partnership with national and local authorities, healthcare professionals, and traditional elders. |
Over sixteen years, our tightly run collaboration has ensured
the integrity of our original vision. All donated money and
resources go directly to the poorest of the poor throughout
Tibet.
